Here's why...The first book I picked up which was the closest was my devotional book, I followed the directions and decided it wouldn't have made sense. The second closest was my Bible. Unfortunately after following the directions again you would've gotten 5 verses of geneologies from Numbers 1, BORING! So I went into the bedroom and picked up the book that I am currently reading, Obsession by Ted Dekker. Coincidentally the 123 page is the first page of Ch. 17, the chapter I stopped on last night! The book is great so far and is about a Holocaust surviver who branded her son before they would be separated in hopes of finding him after the war. She died before finding him, however her death is what caused her son Stephen to find her. He believes she left him something very valuable...

The blond German had blue eyes too, but were soft, distracted. Braun's were cold, still. Like death.

The German's as in WW2 are the enemy in this book. They too are trying to find what Rachel (Stephen's mother) left behind!Leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00145938358261672900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19235077.post-44392267949403360552008-02-03T09:17:00.000-06:002008-02-03T09:17:00.000-06:00You asked for it:"I would laugh, I would applaud,"...You asked for it:

"I would laugh, I would applaud," the little cough might be interpreted; "but modesty forbids."

"Stertorious what?" asked Lucy. "Do remember that I've never been educated."

And... even though the MEME doesn't require it, here's the next wonderful sentence: "Warbling your native woodnotes wild!" said Willie.

This conversation takes place in Aldous Huxley's novel "Point Counter Point," published in 1928.

jawnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
