a new pastor in town

One of my friends from college, Brian Bales, has recently taken the senior pastor position at Riverwood Community Chapel in Kent, Ohio, after working as a pastor to young adults at a church near Washington, D.C. You can read about it here, but I'll give you a taste.
`` We are excited about coming back to Ohio. We didn't really sit down and plan to come back -- we were really trying for some place warmer,'' Bales said, with a chuckle. ``But we believe God has called us to Riverwood and we're excited about that because it is a very relatable, authentic church that recognizes it is designed to be a hospital, not a country club. It is a place that helps people.''

  1. That's interesting. A decade ago, when I was going to KSU, that church was meeting at Roosevelt High. They seem to have built a church on the west side of town between Kent and Stow.

I would up going to their parent church in Akron, since the parent church had a post-college-aged singles group.
