Katie Gearld's family lives a couple blocks away from me. They had an open house for her about a month ago, before she left for Seattle. Since we're new to the area and we don't know her family, we didn't feel obliged to go.
I don't know her personally, either, as my boys are just now in high school. I heard that Katie was back in town last weekend playing against the Fever...we didn't go though.
That sign is familiar to me! I went to school with Andy McVey, the 1986 state champion.
