Blago's trial began today

The illustrious former governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, finally got his day in court. The Chicago Tribune is keeping up with the latest details, information, and allegations. I'm not sure how exciting the court proceedings will be, but it will certainly be lively if there are a few jurors with 'bad temper.'

The governor of the state of Illinois, where I now reside, has been impeached and convicted.

My governor has been impeached. The vote was overwhelming, 114-1.

"I will fight. I will fight. I will fight until I take my last breath."

It looks like Guv Blago isn't going to make himself scarce.

"And I'm not going to quit a job that people hired me to do because of false accusations and a political lynch mob."

Heh. Funny that a Chicago politician would utter the word mob.
